Friday Fitness Challenge
It seems to be the season of the fitness challenge. Every where you click, tap or swipe, there is a new challenge to get you fit and lean and Summer ready. Myself included, as we have a few dozen in a fun accountability group challenge on Facebook. They are awesome and so helpful to get folks motivated into living a healthier, fitter and happier lifestyle.
I wanted to add a little something to that for my own selfish growth purposes that can, in turn, help motivate others. So I am making it a new feature coming to the blog! Set your intention, right?
On Fridays, from now and throughout the Summer, I'll be heading out to try different workouts at different studios and clubs around Houston (and out, if travel comes up too!).
Aside flexing muscle, I will be stretching my perspective (and my comfort zone) to try new ways to get my workouts in by getting out there and exploring new things and coming back and sharing them with you.
I could just hit the weight room every day, by myself, and get into the best physical shape possible. However, that is not all that being your best is about. I want to inspire and motivate others to find things they enjoy and to move! I want to find places and workouts that people may not know about that could be their next "thing".
I know how intimidating it can be to walk into a big gym for the first time or a class where everyone already knows each other. If you're an extrovert and an all around outgoing, social person, it may not seem like a big deal. I am not one of those people. I have struggled for YEARS and I am constantly putting myself out there because I know it will make it easier.
So...here's my challenge, I will go out and do a new workout (and revisit some old ones) and report back. Maybe you'll find something that strikes your interest! Maybe I will too!
Want to join me on this challenge? Have any suggestions on where I should go first?
